INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE PTA BOARD?

It is time once again to recruit volunteers to serve on the 2012-2013 PTA Board. Serving on the PTA Board is a rewarding experience. Not only is it a chance to help enrich your child’s educational experience, but it is also a way to meet and work with other Campbell parents.

There are 14 positions on the PTA Board comprised of 6 officers and 8 chairmen. The specific titles are as follows:
Officers: President, Vice President of Fundraising, Vice President of Student Services, Treasurer, Secretary and Parliamentarian.
Chairmen: Membership Chairman, Online/Publicity Chairman, Volunteer Coordinator, Yearbook Chairman, Programs/5th Grade Coordinator, Room Parent Coordinator, Teacher Appreciation Chairman, and Spring Fundraiser Coordinator.

If you are interested in serving in any of these board positions, you can submit your name to the Nominating Committee at info@campbellpta.org by March 15, 2012. Please put “PTA Board” in the subject line. The Nominating Committee will submit their recommendation for Board Officers to the PTA membership at the annual meeting in April.

RAFFLE TICKET SALES HAVE BEGUN

Raffle ticket sales for our 3rd annual Fun Run are well under way! You should have received a raffle packet last week in your child’s Tuesday folder. If you did not, please let your teacher know. We hope that you are finding the raffle items exciting and the tickets easy to sell! This raffle contributes greatly to the overall success of the Fun Run and we sincerely appreciate your help with sales! Should you need any additional tickets before the packet return deadline of Feb. 21st, please email Lauren Beheler @ laurenrbeheler@hotmail.com or stop by the front office.

TURNING TRASH INTO CA$H

Congratulations to Mrs. Hicks’ first grade class for collecting the most labels (Box Tops, Campbell’s Labels for Education and Tyson Project A+) in December. Mrs. Hicks’ class won a Game Day in the Gaming Lab for their efforts!

The next collection period from the classroom is the week of January 30th – February 3rd. The class that collects the most labels for this period will also win a day in the Gaming Lab. Feel free to send your labels in earlier if that is easier. Teachers will collect and save them.

We are looking for volunteers to help the Teacher Appreciation Committee plan a fiesta feast on Friday January 27th. We will need some mexican food items donated and some volunteers to help serve lunch and drinks! It’s Time to SKATE! – January 19th at 6:30 p.m.

Don’t miss out on Family Fun Night sponosored by the Campbell PTA on Thursday, January 19, 2012. Grab a quick bite to eat from one of several food vendors in the cafeteria starting at 5:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., join the PTA for a brief Membership meeting in the gymnasium followed by an informative program for both parents and students at 6:30 p.m.
This month, the PTA is presenting an abduction prevention program called SKATE. Most parents never talk to their children about the possibility of an abuduction. In an effort to help educate children and their parents, the Laura Recovery Center developed the Safe Kids Are Taught Early (SKATE) program. SKATE is a 45 minute fun filled, interactive, educational, safety program that concetrates on the lures a predator might use and steps a child can take to identify and avoid an abduction. It is designed for children in grades K-5. Don’t miss out on this important and informative program!

BUNNY HOP

Any Campbell family that recruits a non-Campbell family to join us at the fun run will have their name entered into a drawing for a $100 VISA gift card to be given at the post-race party. For a Campbell family to be eligible for the drawing, the family that has been recruited must have at least four people registered to run in any of the races. Be sure your family friends put your first and last name in the “Recruited By” line on the family entry form so we can add your name to the drawing. Family entry forms are located in the front office.
