Thanks for Making the Volunteer Luncheon a Success!

May 14th, 2012

Thanks to all who attended the Volunteer Luncheon on Friday, April 13th. Our general meeting and election of new officers was followed by a beautiful performance from Mrs Austin and her 5th grade orchestra. A big thank you to the talent orchestra students for making our luncheon so special. What a tremendous job! We were also able to honor many parent and grandparent volunteers who made a difference in the lives of our Campbell students as well as honor our Volunteer of the Year, Roy Kloeber. Thanks to everyone who gave their time at school volunteering in the Library, Classrooms, Junior Achievement, Music Dept,Beautification, Workroom, Field Day, Kids 4 Kindness, Teacher appreciation, Room Moms,Fall Fundraiser,Marquee, and Bunny Hop to name a few, at home with brown bag projects, and behind the scenes this year at Campbell. Your efforts have been appreciated and resulted in over 7,000 hours logged during the year! Way to go!

Congratulations to Campbell’s Volunteer of the Year

May 14th, 2012

Our 2012 Volunteer of the Year is Roy Kloeber

Campbell and LCISD are so fortunate to have Roy as not our volunteer but a bus driver as well!! Roy is married to his beautiful wife, Sandra, and has two wonderful children, Hannah a sixth grader at Reading and Mason a 3rd grader at Campbell. He primarily volunteers in the workroom at Campbell but also helped in any capacity needed after hours and during the summer. He is a board member with R & R summer swim team where both of his kids swim. He also volunteers in the summer at Camp Invention held at Campbell and for Lamar Little League baseball team. Roy has a great personality and is always willing to step up to whatever task we throw his way. Best of all, he does it with a smile! We are blessed to have him at our school and we would like to say, “Thank you Roy!”.. It’s important to us that you know how much we appreciate and value you as not only a parent, but as one of our most treasured volunteer!

THE PTA BOARD NEEDS KEY OFFICERS FOR NEXT YEAR

April 1st, 2012

The PTA Nominating Committee has been working diligently to find officers to nominate for next year’s board. Unfortunately, the committee is having a hard time finding volunteers for President and Secretary. These positions have been held by the same volunteers for 2 years, but according to the PTA bylaws, these officers must be termed out. It is critical to the future success of Campbell’s PTA that we find volunteers to take on these roles!
Serving on the PTA Board is a rewarding experience. Not only is it a chance to help enrich your child’s educational experience, but it is also a way to meet and work with other Campbell parents. If you think that you would be interested in serving in either of these two positions, please contact the Nominating Committee chairman, Terri Edwards at terri11@att.net as soon as possible. The Nominating Committee has to post their nominations for board officers no later than April 6, 2012. Officers will be elected by the PTA membership at the annual meeting on April 13th.
